Abstract: The main objectives of this B.Tech project research are to perform the CFD simulation for the flow around a flapping wing in a gusty environment and analyse it results. The objective is met by the studying the effect of wing associated aerodynamic characteristics like CL, CD and pressure distribution. The governing equations have been solved using a second-order node-centred finite volume method. Numerical simulation is carried out using Immersed Boundary Method on a NACA 0012 pitching wing profile. It is later expected to analyse the effect of turbulence, surface roughness, effect of amplitude and angle of attack over the flow domain.
