|Abstract:||Recent years have seen a growing interest in the field of using renewable energy sources particularly pertaining to the fact that conventional energy sources have harmful effects on the environment and have large transmission losses. Which brings to us the concept of microgrid involving distributed generation. Distributed generation also introduces us to Photo-voltaic (PV) systems Research in PV systems has been a hot topic in last decade because of its advantages. The main challenges in any PV system are efficiency, environmental factors like temperature and irradiation which seriously affect the output of the system.To overcome these challenges many efficient algorithms and techniques have been proposed.In this thesis few fundamental techniques to improve efficeiny and topologies for multiple PV cell connection are analysed and compared. The theoritical modeling is done with the help of MATLAB/SIMULINK. The model incorporates the behaviour of single PV cell with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques followed my analysis with two PV cell in different connection topologies.|
